In June of 2013 I began writing a little story about a girl who gets trapped in her house. The story actually came to me while I was in the middle of finishing up Scorched Treachery. I was driving my daughters home from school and this song came onto the radio.
I listened, and I heard a story that wasn’t really in there. I heard a world that didn’t exist and monsters that only live in my mind.
The story was so different than Imdalind, but it infected me. It rocked me and it didn’t want to go away.
After I finished Scorched I knew I needed a break from Imdalind. Not that I do not love the world or those characters, but I am a method writer, I put myself into my characters. So when I wrote the end of Eyes of Ember I was rocking back and forth wearing a hoodie. My brain was on the verge of its own crazy so I let the monsters of Through Glass out, and they flooded the paper in about a two week span.
It sped through my betas at break neck speed, waited for three weeks for my editors, made its rounds and came out polished and beautiful. And still… I am scared to release it.
I am scared because it can be viewed as a little bit scary, but it is also very different. Not just different as in different than Imdalind. But different in that there really isn’t much out there that is similar to it. It is so different my publicist and I are having a hell of a time trying to categorize it. In fact, here is just a little bit of the list we have put it into.
Dystopian, Romance, Sci-Fi, Post-Apocalyptic, Paranormal, Horror, Action, Thriller, Suspense, New Adult, Mystery, Young Adult,
Just to put that in perspective, that is 5 more keywords than Amazon allows.
But strangely with all the weirdness of the genre, and the different story my beta’s love it. Everyone who has gotten an ARC has gobbled it up, bought more flashlights and been sent raving from the room, desperate for the next one.
So tomorrow, when Through Glass goes live, snap it up, devour it, stock up on survival supplies – and let me know what you think.
Because I hope you love it 🙂

It all started with a birthday present: a little book I wrote for my grandfather, helped along by a little bit of performing experience and a whole lot of love. It has since evolved. Get to know the woman behind the words.
