It's Done | Rebecca Ethington

Yesterday I hit ‘accept’ on the last edit, I went to a new page and typed up my list of Acknowledgments… I hit save.

And Eyes of Ember was done.

I cut it right down to the wire, went through last minute editor changes, and delays and nine spectacular beta readers.

And it’s done.

I really can’t explain how I feel right now. Kiss of Fire was a book that shot through my fingers like lighting, and Eyes of Ember was the Thunder that followed. It came quick, and found its way onto paper from my mind almost as quick as Kiss of Fire did. It got mixed reviews from my beta’s, but no one asked for changes. They loved it the way it was, the bitter taste it left in their mouth and all. Some called it filler, some called it perfect.

But tomorrow I will find out what everyone else thinks.

That’s right, I am releasing Eyes of Ember one day early. I am setting it into your hands and I hope you love reading it as much as I loved writing it.

I think it’s beautiful and bittersweet and gut wrenching and traumatizing.

I do not think its perfect.

But, with this story there is no such thing as perfect, because the story itself is about fractured lives. And nothing that is broken can be perfect.

I cannot thank you enough for all the support you have given me. I am blown away.
