Scars are hard | Rebecca Ethington

And I am not talking emotional scars here (although those are hard to) I am talking actual physical scars.

We are getting ready for the photo shoot for the cover of ‘Kiss of Fire’ and I think I have made Joclyns scar, or kiss if you prefer, about 50 times. I have gone through enough Ben Nye Liquid Latex to last me a lifetime and my house smells faintly of rubber cement.

Now you may be wondering where the problem is, and I can I say that there isn’t really one – theoretically making a scar/brand should be easy. That’s what I thought too. I watched enough you tube videos on how to do this, and used liquid latex enough in my upbringing in theatre that is *should* have been a cake walk. Except all my brands tend to look like black plague boils or round worm infections. And, yeah, I am really not exaggerating. The upside of this, because there always has to be one, is that now I CAN go as a black plague victim for Halloween. My child hood dreams have been answered! (And, yes, I probably will. And, yes, there will be pictures.)

But no pictures today, because when I finally make a great scar, and slap it onto the actors face I don’t want anyone to say – hey she put the one on the blog and why yes it does look like a boil. No – I want them to say – damn that cover looks good.

Because it will.
