First and foremost – I currently drive a minivan, meaning that any car that is not a minivan is my dream car. I could see a rusty old station wagon and that would be my dream car. Now, don’t get me wrong, I love my mini van. It’s a Mazda MP3 – the thing drives more like and SUV then a van – its also small, so when I get all four kids in there its a bit overcrowded. That and the little ones like to beat up on each other that doesn’t help either.
But, because it a Mazda it like to ‘zoom zoom’ I mean, for a minivan this thing can go really fast, so when I’m late for dropping the kids off at school, I can zoom zoom over railroad tracks like nobodies business.
But… even with all the finer point of the ‘mini’ van there is one car I miss… my little red neon.
I got pulled over in that thing at least once a month. Now, stop that line of thinking right there – its not what you think. I’m not a speed demon, my husband actually won’t let me drive because I am always going at least five miles under the speed limit. But, that beautiful car was just asking for trouble.
Cherry red with tint so dark you couldn’t see in – that car was beautiful. And cops always expected a drug bust or something. The look on their faces when they would just see little ol’ me behind the wheel was priceless. So while I may have been pulled over a lot I never actually got a ticket – I blame my womanly wiles 😉
If I ever got out of my minivan – I would probably buy another little red super fast stick shift car – but not a lotus – because as my husband pointed out ‘A lotus is the most ridiculous car in the world’
And he’s right. It’s why I chose it. After all, in books anything can happen. Including me fitting four kids in a little red sports car.
